The Unique Tradition in Calauag, Quezon
Calauag, Quezon is just a simple and peaceful place where I lived. It is located near the sea which some of the people make for living. Even though it is a small place it's fun in Calauag! There are what you called a Crab festival or Alimango festival, that is usually celebrated every July. The festival highlight is a street dance that makes the street of Calauag blasting.
However, the traditional town fiesta is held on May 25th in honor of its Patron Saint, St. Peter. You may found that the Calauag town have a long street vendors in the seaside and some of different carousel which you may enjoy at night and there are so many contest in Barangay's that are exciting to watch with your friends and family.
You may also amused with the legend of Calauag, Quezon , if you are going to visit here, you may find the letter C in the seaside which makes you wonder why there is a huge turtle there and it's because of the legend of giant turtle known as "Kala" was trapped near the town's seashore. The town people wanted to kill the turtle with sticks, but the fisherman who caught it dissuaded them by shouting "Kala-Huwag! And that's how the name "Calauag" began.
